Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands situated off the coast of Africa and has been occupied since the 11th century BC so is steeped

in history.There is a large variety of restaurants, bars and nightclubs on Fuerteventura particularly in the resorts of Corralejo and Caleta de

Fuste.Costa Calma is on the edge of Jandia nationa park and is know for it's long sandy beaches the most famous of which is Playa Barca.La Oliva was the

administrative heart of Fuerteventura and the Casa de los Coroneles townhouse is one of the main toursist attractions.

Tenerife is the largest island in the chain and also Spain's most populated island overall, so if you like the heady buzz and busier holiday style then

this is definitely one island for your shortlist.Gran Canaria offers excellent beaches for the sun lovers and plenty of outdoor activities too, so never a

dull moment unless you want to relax instead.If you find that the heat can be overwhelming though you'll be pleased to know that extremes of heat are

often tempered by the balmy trade Winds that blow off the Atlantic.

Costa Teguise also remains an attractive holiday hot spot and boasts wide avenues which give it a spacious open plan feel.Whichever of the Canary Island

you choose to take your next vacation on you'll find something to entertain the whole family, but none will give you the true Canarian flavour like

Lanzarote.

There is a volcano called the El Golfo on the Island. The lava from the volcano drops into the sea from a height of about 700 meters.The spellbound beauty

of the mountain should be seen rather than explained. History says that it was here that a great storm knocked the Garoe Holy Tree.

The hotels serve the famous Vina Frontera Blanco white wine and many of the most delicious local specialties. There are many villas and hotels to care for

the tourist.

The best guarantee of constant sunshine and warm, dry weather is found on the south coasts of every island where even mid winter days provide plenty of

sunbathing and swimming opportunities.Official weather forecasts for Gran Canaria are based on Las Palmas, the island's capital which right on the

northern tip of the island.A not so positive experience occurred a couple of years later on the island of Lanzarote. It was the last week of March and we

were taking a one week vacation at a Charco de Palo.Despite this we loved Charco De Palo and will return there one day, keeping in mind our own travel tip

and going later in the year.
